How Do We Know if We are Being Faithful?

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

There are many things that can be said about the nature of faith and even more that can be said about its importance in our everyday day lives.

But more than anything else, this one simple thing remains absolute…

faith is never easy.

In fact, the only way we can know that we are being faithful is when being faithful gets hard.

Whether a person has known God for 1 year or 100 years the fact will always be that having faith in the most trying and difficult moments in life will never be easy.

It will always demand everything from us.

It will always push us to our breaking point.

It will always cause us to ask more of ourselves.

It will always leave us with doubt.

Yet in the end, we can rest assured that our struggles will always be rewarded because when all is said and done, our faith will always leave us better than we were before.

James 1:3

Because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

There is no shortcut to faith.

In our practice of faith, we go against our own human nature in our attempt to find comfort in that which we can’t see or fully understand.

And that can be scary sometimes.

No, it will be scary sometimes.

Yet in spite of that fact, the walk of faith will always be worth the treasure that lies on the other side.

Revelation 2:10

“Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.”

So live a life of faithfulness to God alone and don’t be dishearted when believing in his promises become challenging.

The difficulty of faith only ensures that we are practicing it the right way.

And in every situation we always sure to find that as we have been faithful to God, he will be faithful to us.
